The Parppeinvaara Bardic Village combines all the features of Karelian culture: the kantele music, handicrafts, the Orthodox faith and traditional food. Guided tour at the Bardic Village contains introduction to the Karelian lifestyle and architecture, and after wish, fascinating kantele music and history of the rune singing in Ilomantsi. War history is an essential part of the history in Eastern Finland. The Mesikkä Animal Museum explains the bind between human and nature.

The group arrives at Parppeinvaara, where the guide is waiting. The guided tour begins from the Bard´s House, where the guide introduces guests to the Karelian lifestyle and plays Finnish kantele. After soothing sounds of kantele, the guided tour continues at the outdoor area: the Museum Buildings of Mateli, the Border Genaral´s Cabin, Orthodox All Saints Chapel and the Mesikkä Animal Museum.
