The Karelian culture can be enjoyed at the fascinating landscape of Parppeinvaara Bardic Village. The Bard´s House is the main building at the village. The first post-war building to be constructed in the traditional Karelian style, it was completed in 1964. Kantele is a Finnish musical instrument with a very special sound.

Kantele music:     40 € per group during opening hours. 110 € per group outside opening hours.

Description:

The group arrives at Parppeinvaara, where the guide is waiting. Kantele music moment will be held at the Bard´s House. The guide introduces guests briefly to the Karelian lifestyle, architecture and culture.  After introduction guide plays Finnish kantele. After soothing sounds of kantele the group can visit the other buildings and exhibitions of Parppeinvaara Bardic Village or move to the restaurant Parppeinpirtti to enjoy the delicacies of Karelian food.

Possibility to buy souvenirs from the gift shop Parppeinpuoti.

With extra charge: lecture of Karelian culture, lecture to the eastern food culture, coffee/ lunch at Restaurant Parppeinpirtti or a service at the All Saints Chapel.
