Shared spaces. Sanni-Maaria Puustinen's art about bears and women
The main theme of the Sanni-Maaria Puustinen's exhibition is the relationship between people and bears and how it can be construed in our time. Artist and folklorist Sanni-Maaria Puustinen is interested about the mythical relationship between woman and bear, which can be found in folklore all around the Northern Hemisphere. The common feature of all the myths and tales about bears and women is the role of these two as creatures sharing spaces "somewhere in between". In folklore women and bears are seen as both human and animal, spiritual and material.
The exhibition is open 3.6.-31.8.2020.
